PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always keep a constant gap between the leading end of a peeling member and the surface of a fixing roller. SOLUTION: The device has the fixing roller 21 having a heat source, a pressure roller firmly pressed against the fixing roller, and a peeling member 31 disposed near the fixing roller in an axial direction of the fixing roller and downstream from a fixing nip in the direction in which a recording medium is transported. The shape of the leading end of the peeling member 31 is formed so that the gap G between the leading end and the surface of the fixing roller is constant. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
