PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability of a clamp device by energizing a collet member upward by a hydraulic cylinder. SOLUTION: In the clamp device 2, the hydraulic cylinder 7 is provided to energize the collet member 5 upward through a collet support member 6, and drive a pull rod 4 downward. In a circular oil chamber 31 in the hydraulic cylinder 7, pressure receiving area of a piston member 30 is set larger than pressure receiving area of the collet support member 6. Therefore, the pull rod 4 can be driven downward as the collet member 5 is energized upward by the hydraulic cylinder 7. At this time, a collet part 5a of the collet member 5 slightly descends to be elastically deformed to the diameter expanding side to be engaged with a vertical hole 1b in a workpiece 1.
