PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber roll and a manufacturing method for the same which does not cause lowering of the dimensional accuracy or lowering of the mechanical strength owing to rubber vulcanization. SOLUTION: In the rubber roll covered with a rubber layer 2 at the circumference of a roll core comprised of a cylindrical member 1 made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics and a metallic journal 4 which is set at both ends, an adhesive layer 3 impregnated with adhesive in a cylindrical knitted fabric is present between the roll cores 1 and 4, and the rubber layer 3a. The rubber roll can be manufactured by covering the cylindrical knitted fabric on the outside of the roll core made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics, impregnating the knitted fabric with the adhesive, the inserting the vulcanized rubber tube into the outsides, and hardening the adhesive.
