PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink tank and an ink tank inspecting device that detects a quantity of residual ink in the ink tank and readily prevents the inadequate ink tank from being used at low cost. SOLUTION: This ink tank comprises an ink tank body 100 consisting of a wall member for accommodating ink 120, and a prism 101 provided on the wall member to detect quantity of the residual ink in the ink tank body 100.
