A heater for mobile use has a fuel line with a release valve which is opened and closed by a control circuit and is forcibly closed by a safety circuit in the event of a control failure. In ordinary operation periodic signals pass between the control and safety circuits and a control failure is detected by the absence of such a signal. An Independent claim is also included for a control circuit as above.
