<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior image display controller which is usable to image and display the area behind a vehicle for driving assistance without making a driver not lose his or her sense of direction while assisting the driver for the dead space. <P>SOLUTION: The image display controller is equipped with an image composing and dividing means 2 which divides a picked-up image inputted from an imaging means 1 of imaging the circumference of the vehicle into a plurality of images, an image deforming means 3 which performs different deforming processes for the plurality of images, and an arrangement control means 5 which arranges the plurality of images at predetermined positions and displays them. In this constitution, a wide-range image of 180° in horizontal viewing angle is separated into an image of the rear front positioned in the center of the image and images of sides distant from the front like a three-way mirror and the images of the sides are intentionally deformed more than the image of the rear front so that the driver recognizes that the driver are really viewing the sides, thereby letting the driver have a sense of depth. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
