PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system in which another radio terminal belonging to the same access point can sufficiently ensure a communication channel band when a radio terminal operable in an infrastructure mode performs inter-terminal communication. SOLUTION: In this communication system, respective radio terminals (3, 4 and 5) which are operating in an infrastructure mode and an AP 1 perform communication using a first communication channel at a beacon interval, and furthermore, the radio terminals (3 and 4) which are operating in the infrastructure mode belonging to the AP 1 perform inter-terminal communication in an ad hoc mode with each other during a free time of the beacon interval by using a second communication channel other than the first communication channel while maintaining the first communication channel through which the AP 1 provides a service.
