PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of an error in recording and reproducing information with a small-sized magnetic disk cartridge and a disk drive and to make the size of the device smaller and its mechanism simpler. SOLUTION: A housing has a flank of an approximately arcuate shape along the outer periphery of a magnetic disk partly abutted on the front of the insertion side to a disk drive 50 and has an aperture provided with a shutter on the flank. The shutter has an opening/closing section of an approximately arcuate shape arranged in the aperture, an elastic section partly which is integrally formed with the opening/closing section and is bent in order to apply an elastic force to the direction of closing the aperture in the opening/closing section and an engaging section 33 engaged with the shutter opening section 56 when the disk is inserted into the disk drive 50 disposed on the outside surface.
