PURPOSE: A rod for sharpening a knife is provided to improve the efficiency of sharpening by using powdered diamond and forming uneven surface on a plating layer. CONSTITUTION: A nickel-plated layer(2) is formed at the outer circumference of a metallic circular rod(1), and prevents the corrosion of the rod. The nickel-plated layer is composed of plating liquid containing powdered diamond(3). The powdered diamond forms uneven surface on the nickel-plated layer.
