PURPOSE: A light guide plate and a plane light source unit using the same are provided to supply uniform illumination to a liquid crystal display panel, and to reduce the manufacturing cost with improving the productivity. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(12) has a micro prism hologram layer(14) on a bottom surface. A lamp(11) is placed at one side of the light guide plate. A reflective plate(13) is arranged under the light guide plate for diffusing and reflecting light at the same time. A prism plate(15) and a diffusion plate(16) are accumulated on the light guide plate in order. Micro holograms form circular or polygonal patterns. The density of the patterns is low at a part close to the lamp while the density of the patterns is high as it is far from the lamp, so that a direction of light emitted from an upper surface of the light guide plate is vertical to the upper surface of the light guide plate and strength of light is uniformly distributed.
