The invention relates to a rapidly-running electric motor (2), for example for a domestic appliance, in particular for a vacuum cleaner, comprising a rotor (3) with a motor shaft (5) and a stator (4), whereby a ventilator (6) is attached to the motor shaft (5), for cooling the motor (2) and for generation of the vacuum in a vacuum cleaner. The rotor (3) and the stator (4) are housed in a motor housing (7) and the motor housing (7) comprises a blower dish (10) and a motor outer housing (14) at a radial separation from the motor housing (7). According to the invention, a rapidly-running electric motor of said type may be improved, particularly in relation to the arrangement and fixing of the motor outer housing, whereby the blower dish (10) is connected to the motor outer housing (14) and the blower dish (10) and the motor outer housing (14) are thus arranged in a fixed manner on the electric motor (2).
