<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for knee protection capable of preventing flying of a cap during operation of the device even when a mounting hole, in an air bag cover, for fixing an air bag assembly to a body is closed by the cap capable of being simply mounted. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag device for knee protection is formed so that the air bag, an inflator, and the air bag cover are previously assembled to a case to form the air bag assembly. The case is fixed on the body side of a vehicle and the air bag assembly is mounted on the vehicle. A mounting hole 28 for a work to fix the case at the body is opened to a general part 26 of the surrounding of the door part of the air bag cover 25. The mounting hole 28 is closed by the cap 42. The cap 42 is provided with a lock claw 44 locked at the peripheral edge of the mounting hole 28 and mounted on the air bag cover 25 by a coupling band 45 non-separably from the air bag cover 26. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
