The signal transmitter unit (1) terminates 1-n lines and includes a voltage supply (101). It includes a microprocessor (102) as a pulse generator. 1-n coded pulses are produced. Pulses from the outputs of the pulse generator are sent to 1-n HF modulators (103). Modulator outputs are capacitatively decoupled through 1-n isolating capacitors (104) to the 1-n coaxial connector sockets (105). These allow access to the HF signals which comprise the pulses modulated onto an HF carrier frequency. The signal receiver (2) contains its own voltage supply (201). The signal enters via the coaxial input socket (202) and is capacitatively decoupled by an isolating condenser (203). The receiver (204) is followed by a demodulator and pulse shaper (205) and sends the output signal to a microprocessor (206) with integral decoding capability. The microprocessor output is connected to a display (207).
