<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a health food for assisting the promotion in the maintenance of human health on the basis of the discovery of the existence of an excellent anti-tumor action in the alcohol extract of bamboo including bamboo shoot, and to provide an anti-tumor agent exhibiting of an excellent anti-tumor action. <P>SOLUTION: This health food is characterized by containing a bamboo extract extracted with an alcohol solution. The bamboo alcohol extract has an excellent anti-tumor action.
