PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square conductor for a motor, which can increase an effective conductor sectional area while suppressing the occurrence of a skin effect, and its manufacturing method, and a motor using the square conductor and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: As a bending process, the square conductor 1 which has the form of a folded cross section where a plate-shaped conductor 10 is folded by bending the long plate-shaped conductor 10 sideways in the longitudinal direction. Moreover, as an insulating cover treatment process, insulating cover treatment is applied to the surface of the plate-shaped conductor 10, in at least a certain period before or after the formation or during the formation of the square conductor 1.
