PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock nut for fastening equivalent to a double nut. SOLUTION: At the time of using the lock nut 1, a bolt 2 is screwed in an internal thread 6 of an outer nut 5 from a bolt insertion end 5b side. The outer nut 5 is turned with a universal tool so that an inner nut 4 is pulled into the inside of a receiving hole 8 of the outer nut 5 along a taper and received therein and the receiving hole 8 of the outer nut 5 with a taperedly reduced diameter in an insertion direction of the inner nut compresses the inner nut 4 in a direction of an axial center. As the inner nut 4 is compressed and reduced in diameter according to advancing into the receiving hole 8, the bolt 2 is strongly clamped from its entire periphery. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
