PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which facilitates the altering of sectional areas of the exhaust air path and the sucked air path. SOLUTION: An electric blower 13 is housed in the body 12 of the vacuum cleaner dividable horizontally respect to the longitudinal direction. The exhaust air path 41 installed in the body 12 of the vacuum cleaner is made to communicate with the exhaust side of the electric blower 13. An intake pipe 48 is arranged in the exhaust air path 41 of the body 12 of the vacuum cleaner and a sucked air path 47 of the intake pipe 48 is made to communicate with the suction side of the electric blower 13. The division of the body 12 of the vacuum cleaner allows the separation of the exhaust air path 41 to make the intake pipe 48 changeable in the air exhaust path 41. This facilitates the altering of sectional areas of the sucked air path 47 and the exhaust air path 41 simply by changing the sectional areas or the thickness of the sucked air path 47 of the intake pipe 48.
