PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device the maintenance of which is facilitated by prolonging the life of developer in the developing device, in which the replenishment and the exchange of the developer are facilitated and the high reliability (reduction of downtime) of which is realized. SOLUTION: The excess (fatigue) developer 101' the stored amount of which exceeds the specified amount out of the developer 101 stored in a developing container 105 is carried to the excess developer storage part 126a of a developer storing member 125 in which replenishing developer 102 is stored. The member 125 is provided with a replenishing developer storage part 126b in which the new replenishing developer with which a developing part is replenished is stored, and the storage part 126a in which the excess developer carried from the developing part is stored independently respectively, whereby the new developer and the old developer are stored without being mixed with each other.
