PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling the rapid acceleration of a diesel engine are provided to obtain powerful output by increasing fuel injection amount through switch operation when an acceleration pedal is operated in a maximum degree. CONSTITUTION: A system for controlling the rapid acceleration of a diesel engine comprises a vehicle operating state detector(100) detecting vehicle operating state depending on the operation of a rapid acceleration switch and an acceleration pedal switch, an engine control unit(200) outputting a specific driving signal depending on the traveling condition of a vehicle, and a driving unit(300) controlling the operating state of a control rack and a waste gate and flickering a rapid acceleration mode indication lamp. The driving unit includes a first drive unit(310) changing the position of a variable valve and a second drive unit(320) changing the valve state of the waste gate.
