Cosmetic composition comprises a non silicone polymer with at least two functional groups selected from a long list and dries to form a hair styling material with a maximum unsticking force of more than 1 N. Cosmetic composition comprises a non silicone polymer with at least two functional groups selected from epoxy, anhydride, acid chloride, ethyleneimino, aldehyde, (hemi)acetal, (hemi)aminal, ketone, alpha -halo ketone, alpha -hydroxy ketone, lactone, thio lactone, isocyanate, thiocyanate, N-hydroxy succinimide ester, imide, imine, imidate, oxazoline, oxazolinium, oxazine, oxazinium, pyridyl thio, thiosulfate and groups of formula (I)-(III).
