PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric barrier discharge lamp lighting device capable of stably lighting a dielectric barrier discharge lamp 200 by impressing high voltage to it, even under the circumstance of usage that a grounding level locates mechanically near to the discharge lamp, by reducing leakage current flowing out from the dielectric barrier discharge lamp. SOLUTION: For the dielectric barrier discharge lamp lighting device, the a dielectric material 3 is arranged near to the dielectric barrier discharge lamp 200, and the dielectric barrier discharge lamp is connected to a lamp driving high frequency power source 1, and a supplemental power source 2 is connected to the dielectric material in order to impress a high frequency voltage having a voltage wave form and a phase same with that of the lamp driving high frequency power source.
