Classes 17(2) and 17(3) [Also in Group XXV] To connect rubber soles and heels to footwear, they are formed with a number of straight or curved ribs or strip-like projections of bulbous cross - section running partly parallel and partly at an angle to one another, and the shoe sole and heel are formed with correspondingly sectioned and disposed grooves, connection being effected by pressure normal to the surfaces in contact, so that the ribs are forced into the grooves.
