The present invention relates to a method for preparing chiral 2,2−dimethylcyclopropanecarboxyl derivatives. More particularly, it relates to a method comprising the steps of reacting (RS)−2,2−dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid with an optical resolving agent to obtain diastereomer, and resolving the diastereomer by recrystalization or chromatography to obtain (S)−2,2−dimethylcyclopropanecarboxyl derivatives and (R)−2,2−dimethylcyclopropanecarboxyl derivatives having optical purity, wherein the optical resolving agent is a chiral heterocycle compound.
