PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently reduce microvibration such as traffic vibration in a building. SOLUTION: A roof floor or a top floor itself having no concern with the habitability of the building is used for a damping device for absorbing the traffic vibration. The horizontal rigidity of the top floor to a support weight is set lower than that of a lower story so that the top floor itself is used as a weight body for damping. The horizontal rigidity to the support weight in a prescribed range of displacement is set lower than that of the lower story and set to an ordinary design in the other range so that the top floor itself is used as the weight body for the damping.
