Method for detection of foreign material (2), especially glue, tape or glued objects on the surface of banknotes (1), whereby the heat (5) radiated from the banknote is monitored and foreign objects, such as tape or glued areas, are detected due to their different heat radiating properties. An Independent claim is made for a device for detecting heat radiation originating from a banknote so that areas of foreign material can be detected. |
