PURPOSE: An electrode of an electric gun and a color cathode ray tube having the same are provided to improve assembly and manufacturing efficiency of color cathode ray tube by forming a marking portion denoted as number or character. CONSTITUTION: An electrode of an electric gun in a color cathode ray tube comprises a main body(42) and a trimming portion(43) located at outside of the main body. Electron beam passing holes(41a,41b,41c) are formed at the main body and electron beams of red, green and blue pass through the corresponding holes. The trimming portion is buried with respect to a beard glass when electrodes are assembled each other. A marking portion is formed at one side of the electrode to classify kind of an electrode. The marking portion may be formed by denoting signs such as character or number through metallic pattern.
