Top cone for an aerosol can, comprising a formed metal sheet extending around a longitudinal central axis, and having a contour that comprises, as seen in longitudinal cross section from the top downward, a top section 14 intended for holding a valve cap, a cone section 16 that is connected to the top section 14 and leading to a countersink section 17 and a flange section 15, which countersink section 17 is essentially U-shaped whereby the outer leg of the essential U-shape, that is the leg being furthest removed from the central axis, is bent away from the central axis to form the flange section 15, and which cone section 16 has a continuously increasing transversal diameter, wherein the top cone comprises strengthening means for strengthening the countersink section 17 against pivoting toward the central axis.
