PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet printer capable of facilitating ink transportation by preventing generation of ink choking by maintaining a low viscosity of an ink in a collection pipe, and achieving miniaturization of the appliances and cost reduction by sufficiently vacuuming and collecting the ink by a small size pump. SOLUTION: The ink-jet printer comprises a recording head for ejecting a highly viscous UV ink with the viscosity lowered by heating, and a maintenance unit for the maintenance work for the recording head and collecting the waste ink discharged in the maintenance work into a collection tank through a collection pipe, wherein the temperature of the collection pipe is maintained at a predetermined temperature or higher. |
