SERVO INFORMATION WRITER FOR MAGNETIC DISKS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a servo track writer which permits efficient writing of servo information to a magnetic disk of a single plate HDD and permits an improvement in production efficiency of the HDD of the single plate disk. SOLUTION: This writer has a spindle which attachably and detachably holds a plurality of disks substantially in parallel and rotates the disks and of which the top end on the open side forms one of air bearing structures and a support mechanism which is arranged with the other of the air bearing structures in the upper part of one to form the air bearing structure and supports the spindle in the state of supporting the air bearing structures at both ends in combination with the spindle. The support mechanism lets the other of the air bearing structures pass to the area where the structure does not affect attaching and detaching of the disks to and from the upper part of the one.
