The method involves transmitting an ID from the device (1) to the server (4), using encryption. At the server, a check is made to determine if there is a software module corresponding to the transmitted ID, and if authorization exists for transmission of the software module. Based on the result of the check, the corresponding software module or a message is transmitted, using encryption, and stored in the memory (Flash1, RAM1) of the device. <??>An Independent claim is also included for a system for performing the method.
