PURPOSE: A photodiode light source based flat plate digital X-ray detector is provided to obtain charge position information simultaneously with the image signal by performing a scanning operation without using a TFT substrate. CONSTITUTION: A photodiode light source based flat plate digital X-ray detector comprises a storage phosphor(20) for storing, in latent image charge, image information of an object and emitting the latent image charge by light, in proportion to the X-ray transmitted through the object; a photo-diode light source(10) for providing light for exciting the latent image charge of the storage phosphor; a photo-conductive layer(40) for generating electron-hole pairs by simultaneously absorbing the light excited by the photo-diode light source and the X-ray transmitted through the storage phosphor; a high voltage applying electrode(30) for applying high voltage for dividing the electron-hole pairs generated by the photo-conductive layer; a strip collector electrode(50) for collecting electrical signals generated by a photo-conductor, and which is arranged perpendicularly to the photo-diode light source; and a readout unit for detecting electrical image signals collected by the strip collector electrode.
