PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simpler and more inexpensive structure and method for joining a steel pipe pile to a column, while using a steel pipe pile with a large bearing force in a foundation, and provide techniques with good construction properties. SOLUTION: The joining structure comprises a ring flange 2 firmly secured to the upper end of the steel pipe pile 1, a fixed member 3 fixed to a leg of the structure, and an intermediate flange 4 disposed between the ring flange 2 and the leg-fixed member 3. After the fixed member 3 is fixed to the intermediate flange 4 in a predetermined position, the intermediate flange 4 is securely joined to the ring flange 2.
