PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink composition for ball-point pens having such dry-up-proof performance and sag performance as to retain ink delivery similarly to that in the initial stage in making a writing even if a writing tip is left to stand in a condition of being exposed to the outside air, good at pigment dispersibility when a pigment is used as the colorant, and affording handwriting of color density similar to that in the initial stage even after the lapse of time, and to provide a ball-point pen filled with the water-based ink composition and having a knocking-, turning- or sliding-type extending/retracting mechanism or the like. SOLUTION: This water-based ink composition for ball-point pens essentially comprises a colorant, water, a shearing diminished viscosity-imparting agent, and trehalose. |
