The walking aid (1) with an elbow support (2) and a double handle (4,5) is converted into a crutch by extending a tube (6) with an upper handle (5) from inside the tubular walking aid. In the retracted position the upper handle (5) fits over the walking aid handle (4), while in the extended position it acts as a support for the user's armpit, with the extended tube fastened in a selected position by a clip or spring loaded button engaging with a hole (10).
