PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium drive unit capable of surely suppressing the vibrations of a magazine with a plate spring and also preventing the plate spring from being damaged. SOLUTION: A notch 1a for housing a door member 3 when opened is formed in a top plate 1c of a housing 1, the plate spring 9 having a pressing part 9a to be able to elastically come into contact with a top face of the magazine 4 is also made to project into the notch 1a, and an extending part 9b formed at an free end of the plate spring 9 is planarly overlapped on a rear face of the door member 3 when opened. When such a configuration is made, the plate spring 9 can be prevented from being damaged even if the magazine 4 is inserted at an inclined posture because of a positional relation where the extending part 9b of the plate spring 9 is overhung over the rear face of an opened door member 3, and also, the generation of pitching moment that causes sound skipping and rattle noise can be suppressed because the pressing part 9a of the plate spring 9 can pressingly energizes the neighborhood of the center (center of gravity) of the magazine 4.
