PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration in recording/reproducing quality during the time when the transition from a land to a groove or the groove to the land, in a DVD-RAM. CONSTITUTION: The offset control part 30 of an optical disk apparatus sets a land focus offset during recording/reproducing on a land, and sets a groove focus offset at the time of recording/reproducing on a groove. During the time when the transition from the land to the groove or when the transition from the groove to the land, the boost amount of an equalizer at an RF signal processing part 22 is temporarily increased, or the recording power of radiated laser beam is temporarily increased. Thus, the deterioration in quality is prevented by compensating a response delay of a focus actuator at the time of the transition.
