PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an electric vehicle, which prevents overload on an electric motor and a control circuit, and to realize smooth ride. SOLUTION: The control device for the electric vehicle, equipped with a torque command value calculating means 31 which calculates and outputs torque command values according to the amount of acceleration operation A, an electrical current command value calculating means 32 which calculates and outputs of specified current command value according to the torque value, and a control means 33 which outputs a current to the electric motor 10 according to the current command value and controls the electric motor 10, is equipped with a full throttle drive determining means 34 which determines whether full throttle drive status is maintained over a prescribed period of time, based on the amount of acceleration operation A and a speed corresponding signal N, and a command value reducing means which reduces the torque command value or the current command value of the full throttle drive status, when it is determined that the full throttle drive status has been maintained over the prescribed period of time. |
