844,885. Charging skip hoists. SIMONCARVES Ltd. Oct. 31, 1958 [Oct. 16, 1957], No. 32307/57. Class 78 (4). The means for centring a skip 1 in a mine shaft adjacent the loading platform also draws the skip towards the loading platform. As illustrated, a pair of arms 9 are swung outwardly about a pivot 34 (Fig. 2) so that diverging portions 14 (Fig. 1) at the ends of the arms engage guides 15 on the skip which enclose the hoist ropes 3. During this centring-action rollers 33 on the arms 9 are drawn downwardly by a linkage 23 (Fig. 2) operated by rollers 19 working in fixed cams 18; this draws the skip towards the loading platform. A pivoted shoot 8 is shown connected between the skip and the loading shoot 7. The operations may be controlled in direct sequence by a series of rotary cam switches associated with an electric motor and solenoidoperated fluid valves under the control of a proximity switch. |
