PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording material for a postcard, which is favorable in printer conveyability, scratch resistance, ink absorbency and lustrous properties. SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording material for the postcard, resin layers are provided on both the sides of a base paper under the condition that an ink accepting layer (A) including fine inorganic particles having an average primary particle diameter of 100 nm or less and a hydrophilic binder is provided on one side of the base paper and an ink accepting layer (B) including particles having an average primary particle diameter of 100 nm or more and the hydrophilic binder is provided on the other side of the base paper, let e μm be the thickness of the base paper, c μm the thickness of the resin layer, on the side of which the ink accepting layer A is provided, d μm the thickness of the resin layer, on the side of which the ink accepting layer B is provided, a cm<3> /m<2> the volume of the ink accepting layer A, p vol.% the volume percentage of the hydrophilic binder, b cm<3> /m<2> the volume of the ink accepting layer B and q vol.% the volume percentage of the hydrophilic binder under the conditions that all the inequalities: a>b, c>d, p<q, 0.2<=(c+d)/e<=0.4 and 3<=bq/d-ap/c<=17 are satisfied. |
