PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-layer umbrella which has a large light shielding area when it is opened and which is convenient to carry and house because it is small when it is closed. SOLUTION: The double-layer umbrella consists of an upper umbrella part 2 having an upper gore 3, a lower umbrella part 1d having umbrella rods 1 and 1' and rib assemblies 2 and 2' fixed rotatably at the umbrella rods and having a lower gore 3' fixed on the rib assemblies, a plurality of detachable and recoverable fixing means 5a for connecting the upper gore 3 and the lower gore 3' with each other, and a supporting means 100 which is fixed properly on the ground or under the ground for constructing the umbrella rod and the double-layer umbrella stably and fixed adjustably and detachably to the lower part of the umbrella rod.
