PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cooling structure for a rotating electric machine which displays superior cooling performance by its simple structure, does not lower its efficiency when the machine rotates at a high speed, and is highly reliable. SOLUTION: A rotating shaft 2 of a rotor 1 has a hollow structure, and an internal cylinder 6 which is integrated and rotates together with the shaft with a specified gap between is arranged inside the shaft 2. A refrigerant is passed through the annular gap 7 between the shaft 2 and the internal cylinder 6. Consequently, the rotor is efficiently cooled with a smaller quantity of refrigerant.
