PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely transfer image information between digital image information appliances or between a recording medium and the image information apparatus when registering the image information into an electronic album, to prevent double registration of the image information without retrieving the image information and to retrieve and extract target image information at a high speed. SOLUTION: In registering the image information to the electronic album, if a file structure of a DCF standard is not present, the file structure of the DCF standard and an attribute file directory are generated (step S408). Thereafter, by changing a free character part of a name of the image information (step S414), whether or not it is already registered is decided from the name. When registering the image information (step S416), an attribute file provided with a bit table is stored inside the attribute file directory, and the bit table is retrieved at a high speed when performing retrieval. |
