PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and economic method for expelling noxious insects in stored cereals without disrupting the environment and with almost no residual toxicity in the cereals. SOLUTION: This method for exterminating noxious insects is to supply cold air toward upward from udder stored cereals 2 loosely housed in a storage 1 such as a silo, a bin, a flattened storage or the like, bring the temperature of the cereals in the lower layer 2a of the stored cereals 2 to be lower than that of the upper layer 2b to make difference of temperatures between the lower layer 2a and the upper layer 2b, guide noxious insects in the stored cereals 2 to the upper layer 2b and subsequently expel all the noxious insects at once.
