PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press apparatus for manufacturing an electrode for use in a battery that can prevent a electrode collector from colliding to a roll, when moving from a coated section, where an active material layer of a sheet electrode is formed, to a noncoated section, where the electrode collector is exposed, and to provide a method for manufacturing the electrode for use in the battery by the use of the press apparatus. SOLUTION: This press apparatus for manufacturing the electrode for use in the battery has an electrode active material layer C that is formed on at least one surface of a strip electrode collector B and a pair of opposite pressure rolls 11, 12 that put the sheet electrode conveyed along a constant path between both of the rolls. In this press apparatus, a spacer 18 for shock absorption lies between both ends of the periphery of both of the rolls 11, 12. |
