PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time for manufacturing and to improve the efficiency in the method for manufacturing an optical element such as a color filter and an organic EL element by an ink jet method. SOLUTION: The device for manufacturing an optical element is provided with a function to maintain two or more pairs of image forming information including the information about the injection position of the ink and the information about the injection amount. The forming information necessary for every substrate for forming a pattern is read out so as to fast respond to changes in the design of the optical element and to efficiently manufacture the optical element.
