PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing a beraprost, capable of producing the beraprost and its salt in a higher yield through a shorter synthesizing route than ever. SOLUTION: This method for producing the beraprost comprises using a compound expressed by the general formula (VII) as a starting material and changing the material into the beraprost expressed by the general formula (I) through a new silyl compound as an intermediate.
