PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently decompose organic chlorine compounds having a smaller number of chlorine bonds in a method of subjecting the organic chlorine compounds in soil and/or underground water to a decomposition treatment by an original position treatment method by a microorganism treatment method. SOLUTION: The method of subjecting the organic chlorine compounds in the soil and/or underground water to the decomposition treatment by supplying a proliferation substrate of the microorganisms to the soil and/or underground water and utilizing the effect of the microorganisms comprises supplying the proliferation substrate as a treating agent of <=+100 mV in oxidation reduction potential of a silver/silver chloride electrode potential.
