PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground coil wherewith, even if there exists a resonance frequency in the range of the normal operation speed of magnetically levitated trains, the situation matching with the resonance frequency can be prevented, as much as possible. SOLUTION: Levitation and guide coils 1, which are continuously arranged in the same shape with the same pitch in the conventional cases, are arranged at unequal pitches. For example, levitation and guide coils 1, having five different kinds of width, are arranged in a specified order within a specific span S and sets of the five levitation and guide coils 1 arranged in this order are arranged repeatedly, illustrated in Figure (a). Or the levitation and guide coils 1 are arranged at random, and illustrated in Figure (b). Or using levitation and guide coils 1 in the same shape, the distance between the adjoining the levitation and guide coils 1 is varied and the coils are thereby arranged with unequal pitch, as illustrated in Figure of (c). Thus, superconducting magnets mounted on a vehicle are prevented from being excited at a specific resonance frequency.
