PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device that prevents stains from sticking to optical components constituting an optical pickup of the optical disk device and that prevents occurrence of reading/writing defects. SOLUTION: In the optical disk device equipped with the optical pickup 21 that records or reproduces information by irradiating the optical disk 4 with a laser beam; on the surface transmitting a laser beam in the optical members 2, 3, 6, 11 that constitute the optical pickup 21, laminated layers 9 mainly composed of photoactive photocatalyst substance are formed, and also, the wavelength of the laser beam emitted from the laser light source 11 of the optical pickup 21 is determined as the one that activates the photocatalyst substance. The photocatalyst substance is a titanium oxide photocatalyst of visible light type which is applied in a wavelength region near 600 nm; a laser diode whose outgoing wavelength is about 600 nm can be used as the laser light source 11. |
