The hot-rolling installation for flat products includes at least two continuous casting units (1, 1'), each followed by shears (2, 2') and a tunnel furnace (3, 3'). The installation further includes a transfer vehicle, a shared preliminary section (10), a finish section (12) and a cooling section (15), as well as at least one winding unit (17, 18). The installation is characterised by the fact that a connector unit (4) for the joining slabs corresponding to the desired coil weights is located between the tunnel furnace (3, 3') and the preliminary section (10). Also claimed are a connector unit and a method for operating the proposed hot-rolling installation. |
